Come Undone
04:05
|
|||
I watched your face
As I bathed your wounds
With perfect silence you
Made your amends in unknown territory
But I caught your eye
And it made me nervous
Why would I wait in the storm,
When it was breaking and you were falling apart?
I struggled hard but I knew
That everything we said would come undone
I dreamt of us
And the night consumed
It turned black as you
Pulled me against my defences and saw
That I had no choice
That you made me nervous
Why would I wait in the storm,
When it was breaking and you were falling apart?
I struggled hard but I knew
That everything we said would come undone
Lately in my recurring dream
Your guard is cracked and you kneel infront of me
The tip of my tongue is an army
Well prepared it’s ready to fight
Is this what you want, have you thought it over?
There in the dark, we passed out,
We had worn out hearts to close to the fire
Why would I wait in the storm,
When it was breaking and you were falling apart?
I struggled hard but I knew
That everything we said would come undone

Enemy Lines
06:02
|
|||
Looking up, I could see you burning out,
There’s a shot, and I feel you drop the pace
‘Cause it takes someone with an acquired taste
For the motion sickness rolling in my head you know (head you know)
Where did you go? What’s in your head running you down?
‘Cause he’d race you, not rest ‘till you’re caught up in his hands
You saw the enemy lines in my face,
They were there from before, rendered by your hate
I should’ve raced you down but I ran aground
And I was out of my depth
We never should have attempted to go one more round
Never should have left it all to fate
We were the reluctant owners of the new skin that we were put here in don’t you know (don’t you know)
Where did you go? Was there a bad taste filling your mouth?
It still aches to contemplate you caught up in his hands
You saw the enemy lines in my face,
They were there from before, rendered by your hate
I should’ve raced you down
(But you saw) yourself as a father, holding his daughter, and haunted you were…
It was taking you under
You should’ve known that sometimes the time ain’t right
And sometimes the words aren’t right
And no one’s to blame
I’ll just sit here as the tides roll in
Just watching you sleep, with your face buried deep in uncomfortable dreams
And my mask’s wearing thin,
But I’m here.
You saw the enemy lines in my face,
They were there from before, rendered by your hate
I should’ve raced you down but I ran aground
And I was out of my depth

Fires Go Out
04:53
|
|||
I’d never seen you look this way before,
But I’d chosen not to dwell on something so material…
‘cause I could see you trying to keep your composure
So, tell me what you’ve done?
‘Cause I held your hand on that day
I watched you fall apart infront of me
When were you going to tell me?
‘cause I’m not the one who is holding on,
or holding you here
I think I caught you reading between the lines,
And though I’m quite impressed it makes the mood uncomfortable
I’m not immune to the flaws like I was before
So, tell me what you’ve done?
‘Cause I held your hand on that day
I watched you fall apart infront of me.
When were you going to tell me?
‘Cause I’m not the one who is holding on,
or holding you here
When did this become your ending?
When did you fall from grace?
I knew the words that could not escape,
As the tears christened your face
I know you’re damn scared, but the pain subsides
I can’t carry you, there to the place where my heart will reside
There where the embers, started to fall, lost in the ending…of it all

Coma Heart
05:49
|
|||
I could see it come within arms reach
As I began to trace down the lines
Taking in the all too familiar
Weak adaptation of my design
Was I digging at a part of you that wasn’t meant to hide?
Did it represent another person with another life?
I know I could make it easier but I chose not to lie
You were under the impression that I was uninformed this time
Reached across, felt your hands, cold
And a part of me wants to fight and break the mould
And as the sky cleared…
I would watch in disbelief at the chaos underneath
I could see you in my reflection
Gazing at me with an air of doubt
Not even the obvious tension
Helped to concentrate your eyes or mouth
As I waded through the angry water I had so much time
But it never helped to settle my uncompromising mind
I was pulling at the broken parts as I was so inclined
I began to lose my senses, and it was too late to hide
Reached across, felt your hands, cold
And a part of me wants to fight and break the mould
And as the sky cleared…
I would watch in disbelief at the chaos underneath
Words were spoken
I was careful to cushion the blow
We stood staring
At the pieces that lay on the floor
I would watch in disbelief at the chaos underneath
Break the surface once more…
I could taste the tides, pulling me under

Final Call
05:01
|
|||
I know we’ll regret this war of words
A siren overhead getting louder, getting louder, getting louder
Shot me a glance, a knowing smile,
Like you were deep in my brain
I took the damaged pieces of your broken heart
I fixed you up, but now I’m crawling
And my resistance meant nothing to you
‘Cause you said the word and I was under
You gave me few reasons to endure
And I felt the grind of my sympathy corroding with my anger
We knew the score, but I had no time,
For you to reap the rewards of your game
You fell on the floor with a dying breath; your final act
I picked you up, but now I’m stalling
And my resistance meant nothing to you,
‘Cause you said the word and I was under
Standing ovations meant nothing to you,
‘Cause you think the worst no matter what I do
In the likely event of a confrontation…
To avoid a scene I might have to play dead again
Play dead again
If this was real don’t you think that I’d react?
But I fight a battle with your lines
And I would improvise my script for the last time
As an unidentified reaction teases my skin,
I look up to face you knowing the opposition
I’m no longer battle ready I rest my case
I’m no longer battle ready I rest my case
I rest my case

Paperplane
05:36
|
|||
Why did you fall so comfortably into my life
when all my attempts were in pieces, gracing my floor…
It complicates my skin
like no one else I was letting you in
I’d lay it down but you’d look right through me
I know the timing’s bad so I’ll wait patiently for my next direction
So out of touch I am barely on dry land
I heard a shot. There was a gun in my hand.
I’d killed off the heart I meant for you to have
And I’ll move no closer now,
hear the echoes ringing out,
beyond my control
How is it I mistranslated tonight?
There was nothing to suggest I should trust a heart killing time
‘Cause she was there and I had to be content
with your instant deflection
You threw my way a response which took me out of myself and off the ground
Rendering my ammunition useless, it’s slowing me down and I barely understand
I heard a shot. There was a gun in my hand.
I’d killed off the heart I meant for you to have
And I’ll move no closer now,
hear the echoes ringing out,
beyond my control
I know you saw me there in the room,
But now my hands are tied behind my back,
blood supply cut off, with every means I had of getting closer to you
I heard a shot. There was a gun in my hand.
I’d killed off the heart I meant for you to have
And I’ll move no closer now,
hear the echoes ringing out,
beyond my control.

As The Dust Settles
06:18
|
|||
When did our alliance become so swollen and unwell?
Didn't you notice when I made that first incision?
I just stood there watching you, reluctantly you struggled through
You tied it up, bore the weight of it on your back
Crimson and raw, the edges pierced your skin
There with the search called off, we lay quiet on the ground.
You were the victim she marked you up, we had known for a while.
And as the dust settles she’ll burn another
Breaks them and consumes them undercover
Though we’re not the same I know we both can reminisce
Of the times we had engraved, but none of this remains
I just couldn’t see it through.
The heart had died and though you knew…
You held it all like the load of a sinking ship that’s weighing you down,
pulling you underneath
There with the search called off, we lay quiet on the ground
You were the victim she marked you up, we had known for a while
And as the dust settles she’ll burn another
Breaks them and consumes them undercover
I saw my open hands rejected with such force
The atmosphere was tense as we were thrown off course
You could’ve turned it all around
But instead of trading up
You repeatedly screwed me over
There with the search called off, we lay quiet on the ground
You were the victim she marked you up, we had known for a while
And as the dust settles she’ll burn another
Breaks them and consumes them undercover
You had me up against the wall, but I had no recollections at all…
Tearing at me but my arms are bound
Spare this illusion and lay me down
You had them fooled for quite a while
But, the blood stains on your hands gave you away
And though you hold me now I can’t pretend…
